Plants in Amadeo

went to a place in Amadeo, Cavite last Saturday (sep.22). wasn't able to go around much.

by the way, their coffee is good...

1 week sick leave

got a viral infection from somewhere that made me sick for 5 days straight (sep.24-28). thank God it's not Dengue or the new Corona virus. didn't go to work the whole week. almost spent my remaining sick leaves. T_T

symptoms
- on/off fever
- headache
- hurting muscles adjacent to my eyeballs
- no appetite for food
- general weakness
- feels cold

spontaneous cravings
- chocolate milk drink (got Moo & Chuckie) -later on prohibited by the doctor; still craving for it now though
- Del Monte pineapple (tidbits, not the juice)
- Chowking Sweet and Sour Pork Lauriat & Chicharap
- 7/11 Siopao Asado

lessons learned
- i will not stay up too late so i can complete my 7-hour sleep (staying up too late somehow weakens my body's defense to sickness)
- i will now take Centrum everyday! and/or vitamin-C
- i will now continue my badminton exercise -stopped it for a while
- i will now drink water religiously

Always remember. Health is wealth! :D

Segafredo Zanetti lunch treat by sir Terrence. Quick food review na din :D

Sir Terrence To, our IBM project team lead, went to CPI-QS for a visit this morning to discuss some work-related issues. He treated the team for lunch later on (at Segafrado Z, as expected. this is the 2nd time).

An opportunity for another food review! For free! :D

(Yes you are right. The images below were not taken using my 400D or HX9V. Forgot my camera so I used my old, faithful & trusty Nokia 5530 XM camera phone with a little tweaking in Lightroom ",)

What I ate:
- baked bolognese pasta (penne/ziti)
- sausage pizza, bacon/mushroom pizza (group order)
- lemon iced tea for drinks

Sausage Pizza

Quick review:
- pricey $_$ (will only come back here if it's free. even if i have enough money, I'll eat elsewhere)
- their baked bolognese platter is above average, though not excellent (taste-wise). did not have a 'cloud-9' experience. Serving amount is average. There were generous small chunks of tomato (though some may not like this) which makes the taste more Italian. But for the price (P330/regular size), I've tasted better.
- the pizza has a very (very) thin and crispy crust, which I like. Taste is more of 'homemade' rather than 'restauranty or fast foody', but it is definitely not tastier compared to Pizza Hut, Shakeys, Sbarro's, etc.
- their iced tea is not your common nestea iced tea. it has a full-er taste of lemon tea. it's the least i expect for the P135.00 drink. i had 5 1/2 glasses, i think.
- when you want your iced tea to be refilled, they will take your glass instead of them coming to you to refill it. i don't prefer this because the glasses may be mixed up if the server took them at the same time. When the server returned my & terrence's glass, i'm not sure whether he is sure he gave the correct glass to the respective owner. Good thing I saw a thread of cheese from my pasta hanging on one of the glasses. it confirmed that the glass was mine. Not good.
- my drink order was a LEMON iced tea. i asked them to refill my glass for the last time before going. sir terrence noticed that the color was darker.. True enough, it was not lemon iced tea anymore. They gave me a PEACH-flavored iced tea. Fyi, I don't like peach (but I sipped some of it anyway). Not not not good service if you ask me. What if sir terrence didn't notice, and I'm allergic to peach? T_T ..but it's okay mr. server, I forgive you :)  Was satisfied with the food overall. 'Twas good! Fine food! Yumyum :d

Food: 8/10
Drinks: 9/10
Service: 7/10
Ambiance: 8/10
Value for money: 5/10

Thanks SZ! Thanks sir Terrence! Thank you Lord! :)

Lens fungus cleaned by Mang Ady

Here's the story.
- bought a camera lens [Canon EF-S 18-135 IS] from someone via tipidpc.com
- got it for a very cheap price! Php 8k only. (This lens is being sold for Php 15,000.00 in stores.)
- lens also includes a freebie item. A brand new Red Crumpler 5MDH Canon EOS Limited Edition Bag (One of this costs around Php 4,200.00/$100.00 and are very hard to find! :D) Pic: http://bit.ly/UcXpkQ
- lens also includes another freebie..terrible amounts of fungus in the lens T_T
[Read this for some background about fungus in camera lenses]
http://www.redbubble.com/people/profaudio/journal/5799370-what-is-lens-fungus-can-it-really-affect-my-camera-gear
- asked some friends who are in to photography and 'googled' for ways on how to clean this dreaded infection. Read many lines of comments on photography blogs and forums. Here are my findings on how i will be able to get it cleaned:
> at Canon Service Center (Ortigas/Magallanes): expensive. Php 250.00 Diagnosis fee. Php 1250.00 minimum cleaning fee (dust cleaning only). may take too long
> at Columbia Photo (Cubao): most expensive! Php 5,500.00 T_T
> at Hidalgo Stores (Quiapo): have no time. too far. kinda expensive too. Php 3,500.00
> bring it to Mang Ady Balce (Trinoma) - Php 1,500 only. though you will let him take home your lens without any legal/business commitments of any sort.
- i let Mang Ady take my lens last Saturday. brought it to him at Trinoma. (He is always at Trinoma wed&sat 5-7pm, sitting near the Yellow Cab signage). Why did i let him take my lens? Here's why :)

Experiencing the paradox of life and death

Early morning 'til after lunch (9-1:30pm):
Went to Wawa, Taguig to attend the dedication of Baby LJ (Love Joy) Cruz, daughter of Ptr. Ruel & Josephine Cruz of HZCF. Was chosen to be one of her "ninong". A great privilege indeed.. She is now officialy my 15th "inaanak" :D

This morning, we celebrated the life of this little baby girl...

After lunch 'til afternoon (1:30-3pm):
Rushed back to Mandaluyong to attend the burial of Tita Vicky Monfero. She died because of cancer :(
Her body was escorted from the venue of the wake to the cemetery with relatives, friends and church-mates.

Ptr. Edwin reading Psalm 23

That afternoon, many tears were shed because of a loved-ones death...

A simple fact - life and death. One verse comes to mind.

"So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God." – Romans 14:12

and as Leonard Ravenhill puts it,

"The opportunity of a lifetime must be seized within the lifetime of the opportunity."

One life, my friends. One life.
When it's all been said and done., there is just one thing that matters c:
God bless you! :)
